What is Pachi Kundan?
Pachi Kundan is the traditional foil-backed setting technique. Each stone is seated by hand over a thin sheet of gold-coloured foil rather than being glued or claw-set, and the foil bounces light back through the stone — which is why a Pachi piece glows from within instead of only sparkling on the surface.

How is Pachi Kundan different from regular Kundan?
Kundan describes the refined metal strip that holds a stone in its seat. Pachi describes the hand-setting of stones over foil. Most jewellery sold as "Kundan" is machine-set or glued in the Kundan style; Pachi is the older, hand-worked version. Neither term says anything about the metal being precious — ours is an alloy with a gold-toned finish.

What is included in the set?
A choker necklace and one matching pair of earrings, in branded packaging.

Are the green stones real emeralds?
No. They are coloured stones set in the Pachi Kundan technique, not mined gemstones. The craft is genuine; the stones are imitation, and we would rather say so plainly.

What neckline does a choker suit?
A choker sits high on the neck, so it works best where there is bare skin to fill — a wide boat neck, a deep or sweetheart neckline, an off-shoulder blouse. If your blouse is heavily worked at the neckline, a longer necklace will sit better than this one.

What should I wear it with?
Emerald green, deep red, cream, ivory and gold all take it. The green stones mean it does not need a green outfit — it reads as a contrast against red or cream just as well.

Can I wear this as a bride?
Yes. A Pachi Kundan choker in gold tone is traditional bridal styling, and the green gives it something a plain white set does not have. If you are the bride, pair it with a simple maang tikka rather than a second necklace, so the two do not compete.

Will it tarnish?
With heavy wear, the finish will dull — imitation jewellery is not anti-tarnish. Keep it away from water, sweat and perfume, wipe with a soft dry cloth and store it sealed; it's made for festive wear, not everyday use.
